Decentralized Exchanges

Swap venues where you keep your keys. Judged on routing quality, effective price after slippage and gas, liquidity depth in the pairs people actually trade, and how much the front end can be trusted.

    Jupiter

    8.4/10
    Any swap on Solana

On Solana, going to a specific AMM is usually a mistake — Jupiter will split your order across four of them and beat the price. The question worth asking is what happens to a neutral router that starts running its own markets.

No aggregator fee on standard swaps
  2. Uniswap homepage, captured for this review02

    Uniswap

    8.3/10
Ethereum-based swaps with the deepest liquidity

Uniswap is where on-chain price discovery happens, and its contracts have an unblemished record. Its front end quietly takes a quarter of a percent that the protocol itself does not charge.

0.05–0.30% pool fee, plus 0.25% interface fee
  3. 1inch homepage, captured for this review03

    1inch

    8.0/10
    Multichain swaps with MEV protection

1inch's Fusion mode answered the question every DeFi user eventually asks: why am I paying gas for a transaction that failed? You sign an intent, somebody else pays to execute it, and sandwiching gets much harder.

No protocol fee on classic swaps
  4. Curve Finance homepage, captured for this review04
    Large stablecoin and pegged-asset swaps

If you are moving seven figures between stablecoins, the difference between Curve and a standard AMM is thousands of dollars. If you are swapping $200, you will not notice — and you will notice the interface.

    0.01–0.04% on stable pools
  5. Aerodrome homepage, captured for this review05

    Aerodrome

    7.5/10
Liquidity provision and swaps on Base

Aerodrome does not pay liquidity providers from trading fees. It pays them in emissions, and gives the fees to whoever locked tokens and voted. Understanding that inversion is the whole review.

    0.02–0.30% depending on pool type
  6. Raydium homepage, captured for this review06

    Raydium

    7.1/10
Solana liquidity provision and direct pool access

Raydium's volume chart tells a story about dependency: one upstream partner accounted for a huge share of it, and then that partner launched a competing AMM. What remains is a competent DEX with a smaller role.

0.25% standard pool fee, lower on CLMM tiers
  7. PancakeSwap homepage, captured for this review07
BNB Chain and multichain swaps at low cost

Strip away the lottery tickets and the prediction rounds and PancakeSwap is a well-run AMM with the best liquidity on its chain. The problem is that stripping them away is not an option the interface offers.

0.01–0.25% pool fee depending on tier
